About Tournerbury Woods

The Club Cottage is situated in its own private, wholly unique micro estate - Tournerbury Woods. Just 70 miles from central London lies fifty unspoilt acres of semi ancient natural woodland, situated on the Hampshire / West Sussex border and in the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With private foreshore stretching for over 2 miles, Tournerbury really is a place for all seasons. With no public rights of way across the estate or foreshore, Tournerbury offers guests those two rare commodities that are so often difficult to obtain in our hectic lives, namely, a sense of space and tranquillity.

The Woods are flanked along their southern and eastern edge by ‘My Lord’s Pond’, a tidal creek that fills on the rising tide giving direct water access to Chichester Harbour and the Solent approximately two to two and a half hours either side of high tide (approximately eight to ten hours a day, dependent on Neaps / Springs tides).

The Woods truly comes into its own from early spring through the summer months and into late Autumn, but as the leaves fall from the trees and the days grow shorter and colder, Chichester Harbour fills with winter migratory birds and a magical atmosphere pervades. Whether you love being outside, in the woods, by the sea, bird watching, walking, or the more extreme outside activities of kite-surfing, windsurfing, sailing or power boating, Tournerbury and Club Monkey Puzzle has something for you.
